Questions? We’ve got answers. If our most commonly asked questions below don’t do the trick, please contact us.
Where can I buy tickets?
Please buy tickets online. Save $5 off EACH TICKET on online ticket purchases only. Tickets bought at the door will be full price. We are encouraging contact-free transactions to reduce the number of interactions between patrons and staff. Please, no cash sales.
How long is the wait?
It depends on how soon you get here! You save a lot of time and money by buying your tickets online. We encourage you to visit us early in the month and on weekdays for shorter lines and smaller crowds.
Do I get my money back if I can't make it through?
No. We don't do refunds. If you buy your ticket but are too scared to enter the haunt, please talk to a volunteer. Tickets are valid until the end of the season, so we can check your ticket back out so it can be used at a later date when you are feeling braver, or given to a friend to use instead. Make sure to use these before the end of the season, since there are no refunds and tickets permanently expire after Halloween.
Is it scary?
Ok... you know this is a haunted house, right? Yes, it is scary. Enter at your own discretion.
Will the actors touch me?
No, our actors will not touch you. This also means you are not allowed to touch the actors. Monsters are happiest when everyone keeps their hands to themselves.
Is there an age requirement?
There is no official age requirement. However, we do recommend 12+ years of age. We rely on parents to make that decision for their children. By all means, bring everyone... we promise to scare your whole family.
Will there be food available?
Yes! No one likes hangry monsters. We will have concessions available to purchase before and while in line.
Do I need to dress for the weather?
Yes... it's October in South Dakota. It can get cold. Much of the waiting line is outside of the Fine Arts Building, so check the weather forecast and dress accordingly.
Can I volunteer?
Absolutely! If you think scare acting could be fun, or are interested in helping out with other volunteer opportunities such as ticket sales, concessions, line management, makeup and more, we'd love to have you!
The Sioux Falls Jaycees are a Non-Profit, right? What do the proceeds from the Jaycees Feargrounds support?
We're glad you asked! Yes, the Sioux Falls Jaycees are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and the Haunted House is our biggest fundraiser and volunteer driver of the year! Proceeds are used to support other Jaycee projects in the community, such as our Holiday Gifts for Kids program that provides gifts to an average of 1600 Sioux Falls area children annually. We invite you to learn more about how the Sioux Falls Jaycees give back to the community, or even volunteer if the project is a fit for you.
Can I take photos or video in the haunted house?
No photography or video is allowed inside the haunt. We ask that cameras are left in your vehicle and that cell phones, etc. are kept in your pockets while in the haunted house, as we are not responsible for lost or broken items. Photography taken outside the haunt is allowed. All media requests can be submitted on our Media Inquiries page.
